Tongsheng exceeds my expectations.
Just recently purchased tongsheng tsdz2b with 52 volt battery. Very happy with my decision, performs better than expected. Riding my bike has become effortless and I travel further and faster with a big smile on my face. The people from Biktrix were great at answering my many questions and did not disappoint. The installation was quite simple and only required the purchase of a couple of tools to disassemble the existing bottom bracket of a ccm commuter bike. For anyone who wants an e-bike at the fraction of the price of a purpose built e-bike, Biktrix is the place to call.
Very Nice. love it.
Not too bad
Does the trick, the only worrying thing is play in the bottom bracket bearings. Hope manufacturers will notice this and sort it out as demands increase. A bit of an excessive vibration from the spur gears, although can't notice it while riding. Performance was satisfactory during 75km trip, was able to climb trough four hills (with 15-20km/h speeds using standard low cost 7 speed Shimano cassette on 1th and 2th gears, 700c wheels, 101kg overall weight on turbo setting) which were 170 meters in hight and with 7% incline. Was left with more or less 50% of 10.5 Ah battery level and sore quadriceps. The assist wasn't used half the time, eco and tour setting was used during headwinds, small inclines and when feeling too tired after poor sleep. Power and turbo setting on hills. Average speed 17km/h only due to riding trough towns and many roundabouts, time spent: 3 hours and 30 minutes. Motor starting could be less jerky, I guess soft start PWM isn't used on all ebikes. Torque sensing works but does seem a bit too sensitive and isn't smooth enough.
Since I cannot, or no how, to update my previous review, I will just write another one. I was told that the reason why my motor does not work is because they programmed it to work at 48 volts. I have a 52 volt battery. This is the first bullet point in the motor's description (just above this): Supports up to 58.6V input voltage (hence the TSDZ2B version. Regular TSDZ2 only supports up to 45V peak) My battery has been showing a voltage from 53 to 57 volts. I had no idea what was going on. The display worked but not the motor.I broke my bike trying to figure this out. The only solution they offered me was to "try" to re-program the firmware myself at a cost to me of $50. My summer (and $500) is ruined. BEWARE
Hello Jesse, if you select 48V version of the motor, you get that. If you select 52V version of the motor, you get that. Looks like you ordered a 48V motor and your trying to use it with a 52V battery. They are not cross compatible. You could mail us your motor and we could update the firmware it to 52V if you want. Email us at email@example.com for RMA slip.
I wish I could say
The motor looks beautiful. Putting it on the bike was easier than taking the old stuff off the bike. I give four stars on the installation. However, I have to give it only two stars because the motor has never worked. The display works and gives me my speed and everything else but the motor has never ran. I guess I'm getting a better work out because now I have the added weight of the non-working motor. Oh well. I don't think that I will ever be using it :(
Hello Jesse, sorry to hear about your trouble. We noticed that you used your own battery. Was the battery the right voltage and amp rating? You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can help you out!
It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma

inaccurate product delivery estimation
Guys, where are the batteries for my last order of 2 Tongsheng kitsIts been 3 weeks of "they're on the way..." The kits work very well and I am pleased with the performance.
I ordered a kit on April 27, and am still waiting on parts to install it. (it is now June 12) I understand that the batteries were on a 3 week backorder, and I upgraded my battery in that time. I also will give Biktrix a week leeway since I was gone for a week when the kit came in, but it's still frustrating to have 90% of the parts and not be able to ride. Biktrix has been very helpful with technical and ordering questions, but I can't overlook the lengthly time delay.
The motor and kit was relatively quick and easy to install. It results in a professional looking installation, small to the point of almost not being noticeable, quiet, simple to operate, as advertised. Product support was great. Even though it is relatively simple to assemble and connect there are no instructions provided and the you tube links did not provide details on the couple of details I had questions on. It would be nice if some of the cables were longer. I did have to extend the battery cable for my application. It is still too early to ***** battery life and overall durability. PS the motor in mounted on a Sun Easy Rider delta trike.
