Attention hunters, trail riders and anyone who hauls gear into the backcountry:
Finally: a 160Nm mid-drive eBike that shifts itself
The new Juggernaut Ultra FS Pro AUTO pairs Bafang's Ultra mid-drive with a sealed 5-speed automatic hub. You never touch a shifter again, even under full power on a loaded climb.
“Mine suddenly grenaded and left me stranded.”
That's from Kaeden in Regina. He rides a Juggernaut Ultra through −30°C winters, mud, sand and snow, and he loves it. He gave it five stars.
“The main weak point on this bike, in my opinion, is the rear hub. The stock pawl-style hub is not ideal for the torque of the Bafang Ultra motor.”
Kaeden, Regina · verified Juggernaut Ultra FS Pro owner
Here's the problem nobody in the eBike business likes to say out loud:
A 160Nm mid-drive puts more force through your rear wheel than a regular bike drivetrain was ever designed to take. Every shift under load, every grain of sand in the cassette, every gear you forgot to drop before the climb adds wear back there.
And it always fails at the worst possible time. Like 8km in, before sunrise, with a pack on your back and an animal on the ground.
Here's what a rear-drivetrain failure actually costs you:
A note from our founder
I read every review we get. When riders like Kaeden told us the rear end was the weak spot under Ultra torque, I didn't want another bandage. I wanted the derailleur gone.
So we spent the past 18 months testing Bafang's new A510 automatic hub with the Ultra M620 mid-drive. Five gears, sealed inside the hub. No cassette to pack with snow. No derailleur hanging off the frame waiting for a branch. And no shifter, because the hub picks the gear for you.
The first time I rode it up Ravine Drive Hill, I caught myself reaching for a shifter that wasn't there. That's when I knew we had it.
This is the Juggernaut I always wanted to build. The first batch is small, and I want it in the hands of riders who'll actually push it.

Why a mid-drive needs an automatic hub
A hub motor spins the wheel directly. A mid-drive sits at the cranks and sends its power through your gears. That's why it climbs like a tractor. It's also why being in the wrong gear wastes its power and hammers the drivetrain.
The AUTO fixes that by letting the hub choose the gear.
Illustrative: the hub moves between five gears by wheel speed. Real shift points depend on hub programming and rider input.

“The Ultra motor has an incredible amount of torque, and the bike feels like a tank in the best way possible.”

Questions riders ask before reserving
Is the auto shifting hub a hub motor?
No. The motor is the 1000W Bafang Ultra M620 mid-drive at the cranks. The Auto Shifting Hub in the rear wheel is a gear hub. It holds five sealed gears and shifts between them automatically.
What if the hub picks the wrong gear?
It shifts by wheel speed: slow down on a climb and it drops gears, speed up and it moves up. You also have the thumb throttle for extra push from a stop or on a steep pitch.
Is it heavy?
For a full suspension fat bike, It's 72lb without the battery, built like a truck with a 265lb load rating. Owners say the weight disappears once the Ultra motor is running.
How far will it go?
An estimated 70km on the 910Wh battery. Add the optional range extender for up to 1794Wh total.
Fat tires or MTB+?
26×4" fat for snow, sand, mud and loose rock. 27.5×3" MTB+ for a faster, more agile ride on pavement and groomed trails.
Is it street legal?
Choose the 32km/h, 500W setting for most local rules, or unlimited for off-road and private land. Riders are responsible for checking local laws.
Can I see one in person?
Visit a showroom in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon, book a virtual demo, or call 1-866-BIKTRIX.
P.S. If you skimmed to the bottom, here's the short version: a 1000W Ultra mid-drive and a sealed 5-speed hub that shifts itself, so you never touch a gear lever. Plus CA$647+ in founding rider bonuses and a 30-day guarantee. Only 50 in the first batch.
P.P.S. Season's coming. First-batch bikes leave the warehouse in 3–4 weeks. The next batch won't.
