Red Stunner is Funner!

This is my fifth bike. I've riden e-bikes before but this is the first ebike I have purchased. I find the tires good traction in slush and melting ice, the steering stable, the shifting very smooth, and the power assist cadence levels easy to adapt to. I love the turbo throttle for unexpectedly steep hills. Riding in the city for groceries and errands, I usually keep it at level 3, and then just use my shifter to gear up and down as I would normally when I'm riding. I was warned that that rear hub motor engaging might feel like it was kicking too quickly when starting from a full stop, but I don't find that to be a problem. I do feel like the gear range is a bit low, but that may be because I'm used to riding mountain and gravel bikes and using a greater range of gears.
I'm not crazy about the saddle. I'm going to try and do some micro adjustments with the positioning to see if that makes it a bit more comfortable, but I might have to change it.
The bike has already attracted bikethieves, and I was lucky that a friend saw the guy with the angle grinder trying to cut my lock. Biktrix might consider adding a frame-mounted rear wheel lock -similar to what Urban Arrow cargobikes and classic Dutch omafiets have. It is difficult to fit a strong carbon steel lock that attaches the rear wheel (with the motor) to the frame and then whatever you are locking your bike to, partly because the spokes on the wheels are so close together, and the frame shape is so complicated, it's tough to get a lock through. Having a frame-mounted rear wheel lock as a secondary would be very convenient, and make running errands or eating out less anxiety prone. As it is, I've taken to removing the very heavy battery, every time I lock it outside. This is cumbersome because my hands are not huge. A handle on the battery would be a convenience.
That being said I'm having a lot of fun riding it around the city, and loving how easy it is for me to climb out of the steep river valley. I am very happy I bought this bike.

Chinese garbage

Assembled in Canada. Bought from China. Marked up dramatically.
Not worth the price.
Asked some questions of their sales staff about their “built in Canada” statements and ended up being talked down to, lied too, and gaslighted in an attempt to avoid the obvious fact that this is more China than Canada.
Add to that the change in tone when I let them know I am after a bunch of e bikes and then blocked on Facebook for having the temerity to point out the false advertising and you have a company that you cannot trust.
Save your money, order the parts from China and assemble yourself. They do.

You're not even a customer!

Yes, our cheaper bikes are made in China. Only our XD bikes have motors built in Canada.
